Tried an OTC Lice Treatment? Here's Why It May Not Have Worked.
Over-the-counter lice treatments are often the first choice for families, but resistance to commonly used insecticides has become widespread. Research found a 98.3% frequency of resistance-associated gene mutations in U.S. lice populations studied. Even when live lice are killed, nits can remain firmly attached to the hair and hatch.
